Taste Africa

Having previously lived in Kenya, Andy Small of Independent Brands Ltd has a created an authentic African cooking sauce range called Taste Africa. The first to launch is a pour-over coconut sauce recipe blended with tomatoes, lime, chilli and other subtle spices called Swahili Sauce, which gives you a true taste of East Africa.

New to the digital food label market, Andy wanted some detailed advice and guidance from us as to what could be achieved from our Xeikon digital label printer and some examples of previous jobs. This was sent to him and swiftly followed with him placing an order for his first sauce labels.

The design and artwork was produced by his company designer and sent as a simple, high res pdf to our studio in order for a produce a press proof of the design. Andy was delighted how the proof was an exact replica of how the final labels would be created, complete with adhesive label backing and gloss finish. This enabled him to apply the self adhesive labels to sample jars in order to visualise the final product and subsequently suggest any necessary colour amendments. In this case, the design of the Swahili Sauce label was replicated perfectly and the approval process was quick and easy.

As with some of our previous new clients, Andy requested a visit to the factory to visualise our process and fully understand the capabilities of the digital labeling presses. He turned up to find his digital labels already running through the press and awaiting final approval, which he duly gave. We encourage these visits when possible as we feel it helps our clients to fully appreciate the digital label printing process.
