New ‘Wraparound’ Style Peel & Reveal Label from CS Labels Offers Genuine Alternative to Traditional Product
The Willenhall based labels and packaging leader designs newly constructed label type that has a lower price point than traditional peel and reveal labels. The product also eliminates the creasing that can occur with the layered method, particularly on smaller cylindrical items.

Willenhall, West Midlands, 20th February 2015 – CS Labels have launched their new ‘wraparound’ style peel and reveal labels.

After feedback from clients and product development and testing, the new wraparound style labels can be a cost effective alternative to the traditional method which involves several labels adhered to each other to form a layered effect. The wraparound label is just one label. It is a long label that is constructed so that it can wrap around itself when applied to a product. The lead portion of the label can be peeled away and then re-adhered by the user. The labels can be printed both sides if required.

Production Director Adam James said: “Peel and reveal labels offer clients the ability to fit extra information on to their products or offer a lot of information within a small space. They are crease free when wrapped around cylindrical items, which can be particularly useful for small products such as cosmetics. This new variation complements our existing peel and reveal labels and can be a suitable alternative for certain applications. It is a low cost alternative and lead times are also shorter than the traditional type due to the fact that the construction is completely different.”

The new product comes in a timely manner in relation to major label law changes in the food and chemical industries. The changes mean clients could need creative ways to fit extra information on to their labels without detracting from the impact of their brand.
The FIC food and nutrition labelling regulations came into effect in December last year with another huge 27 amendments planned between that December 2014 and 2017. The changes involve the displaying of extra mandatory information on labels and better legibility of text which may involve fitting more onto an existing label. If clients are using traditional print methods such as flexographic, rather than digital, these changes could result in extra cost (origination, different variations, disposing of old label stock), extra time and in some cases monumental changes to packaging. Peel and reveal labels printed digitally can be a sensible answer.

In the chemical world the law is changing for good on June 1st this year. The new CLP label compliance rules mean that the pictograms currently used will change, as well the specification of dimensions of the pictograms and label size. CS Labels have been helping clients to get the most from their packaging budget by featuring multiple languages on a peel and reveal label. If more than one label is required, CS labels can offer a cost effective way of versioning the labels and clients can change their artwork without major penalty and waste due to the lack of printing plates, short lead times and the shorter job runs.
